With mid-terms approaching, the quintuplets’ father issues Futaro with an ultimatum – all five must pass or he’s fired!
What’s happened since last time?
Futaro tried to shepherd the girls together for the fireworks festival, but no matter what he tried one of them kept wandering away. Finally, he discovers that Ichika has been working as an actress and must leave for a big audition. Before she does so, she gives him some advice that really hits home. In return, he inadvertently helps her with her audition.
Futaro’s efforts seem to be breaking down the quintuplets’ barriers, well, three of them anyhow. Miku, Yotsuba, and Ichika have agreed to take studying seriously, but Nino and Itsuki are still holding back. With the seemingly impossible task of passing midterms closing in on them, Futaro ends up spending the night at their apartment so they can get some last minute cramming in. What could possibly go wrong?
Have your feelings changed?
This series really surprised me with how much I enjoyed it and I’m glad that nothing has changed. I love the dynamic of the five sisters and the strain that it puts on poor Futaro. I also loved the way that we’ve now realised that not only will he marry one of them (potentially), but he also met one of them before during his younger and more rebellious days.
Who was your favourite character so far?
Still Futaro, although, I love all of the quintuplets too and my opinion on them changes from episode to episode as they move up and down in my rankings. It’s impossible to tell which one Futaro will end up with and which one he met before (although probably not Nino because she didn’t recognise the photo of his younger self), but it’s going to be one crazy ride either way.
Who do you want to see more of?
We got the episodes that focused more on Ichika and Yotsuba, and more of Miku and Itsuki, with a little Nino, so I’m not going to pick any one of them for more. Just keep it going exactly as it is. I’m having a blast with this series and am very glad that I decided to watch it. This is yet another reminder to watch other genres. Several of my favourite series of late have been shows I likely wouldn’t have watched if I was sticking to my preferred genres.
Are you going to continue watching?
Try and stop me. This series is great. I may even look at the manga once it’s done. I can’t wait to see what they put Futaro through and how things are going to change once they realise that one of them met him before. It would have been best had it been Nino, but I feel like it’s not going to be who we would expect (Itsuki or Miku).
