The One-Liner Challenge

I’ve been blogging for several years. In total, I think I have five failed blogs that I’ve either pulled from existence or allowed to fade away. This is my latest attempt and while I’ve been busy updating it for a while now, I’ve only just started to interact with others… maybe it’s that crippling fear that someone will actually read it!

Anyhow, I’d like to say a huge thanks to A Winter’s Reverie for the nomination and the chance to join in with these awesome challenges. I seriously love challenges.

All right, here’s the official stuff before I drop some one-liners on you!

If this is your first time hearing the call, here are the rules of engagement

  • Accept and Thank your challenger(s) by linking back to their post.
  • Make a post of one sentence summaries and/or roast of at least five books/animes
  • No Spoilers!
  • Link back to The Awkward Book Blogger so she can see your post.
  • Challenge as many or as little people as you want!
  • Have fun!

Here we go…

How Not to Summon a Demon Lord

Like Overlord but with more meat on them bones… a lot more meat…

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works

Legendary warriors deliver lengthy monologues and occasionally fight.

Claymore

Warrior women with huge weapons… I’m talking about their swords, you pervert!

Highschool DxD Hero

Using fanservice to trick guys into watching romance… but seriously, if Issei doesn’t tell Rias he loves her things are going to get nasty!

Keijo!!!!!!!!

Sumo Wrestling through the anime fanservice lens.

Heaven’s Lost Property

Ungrateful teenager forced to live with three beautiful angeloids…

And this one’s for A Winter’s Reverie.

Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie

There are amazing fights and even pretty nice streets, but the story’s been KO-ed!

Thanks for reading. I’m pretty sure that everyone I’ve interacted with so far has completed this challenge. If you haven’t then please accept this as an open invitation.

  1. That first one liner got a chuckle out of me!
I haven’t seen How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, but I’ve definitely seen enough pictures to have an idea…

    • Thanks. My goal was to make at least one person laugh, so I’ll take that as a win.

  2. Unlimited Bladeworks is my favourite. Good job. XD

    • That series would be amazing if they focused more on the fights and relationships, and not have them all pondering existential questions all the time.

    • Lol, the entire franchise, you mean. Fate/Zero is a lot like that as well. Ex…let me explain my motivations as king and why I don’t want to fight but still have to…calibur!

  3. -Slow Clap- That was… beautiful! How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, Claymore and that dedication was the stand outs. I nearly choked on my water while at work. Keijo as well. (I thought that show was amazing for some reason despite the fanservice. I even introduced someone to the genre with that show. That and Scorching Ping Pong Girls.)
