What did you watch and why? I’ve had mixed feelings with the whole Fate series. Earlier in the year, I watched the first season and it left things wide open, so when the second season appeared, I felt like I had to finish things off.

What’s it really about? Who the hell knows? We join the characters from the end of season one as they ascend to the sixth level, where the guardian awaits them. There’s a lot of talking, mostly one-sided as everyone seems to be happy to not interrupt each other. Then there’s a couple of massive attacks and it’s all over…

What did you watch and why? I loved the first two seasons of Overlord, so of course, I was back for the third. It’s dark and gritty, and really, we’re seeing it all from the side of the villain. He is the villain, right?
One line pitch! Overpowered undead sorcerer king starts down a path to conquer the world…
What’s it really about? A gamer that was transported to a world similar to the MMORPG he was playing searches for other gamers from the real world. In an attempt to find them he attempts to get noticed by taking over the world… There are undead armies, goblin hordes, terrifying demons, and those are all on his side.

Hakuno finds himself in a strange world with no recollection of his past. It appears to be a school, but things appear to be off. A countdown begins. His friend stabs in him in the back and leaves him for dead. He wakes sometime later and is pursued by a dark avatar.
He stumbles across an ornate theatre where he finds a sword. When he touches the sword, a heroic spirit appears and makes a pack with him. She defeats the avatar and together they progress to the next level.
The heroic spirit, Saber, brings Hakuno up to speed. It would appear that he has found himself in a digital version of the Holy Grail War. Lord Ainz Ooal Gown is looking to expand his influence over the land of Yggdrasil. He has identified the countries and their intents, looking for their strengths and weaknesses. Haha! Their weaknesses are that they pale in significance next to Ainz Ooal Gown and his servants.
His first goal is to concur the land occupied by the Lizardmen. He has entrusted Cocytus with completing this task, although it’s not as straightforward as he may assume. The Lizardmen band the five different tribes together in an attempt to stave off Cocytus’ army of the dead.
In Re-Estize, Sebus and Solution remain undercover, researching the city and its occupants. Sebus has a chance encounter where he rescues a badly injured woman from a brothel. Under the influence of his creator, he takes her in and promises to protect her. Continue reading “Overlord – Season Two”
The countdown to the end has begun. When it reaches zero the MMORPG known as YGGDRASIL will be switched off for good. Momonga sits in his Guild’s meeting room waiting for the end. In the twelve years that the game was around, they built the strongest and most successful guild, but soon it would be over.
Momonga closed his eyes and waited for the forced logout, but it doesn’t happen. He is still in the game. Then he notices something odd. The AI servants from within the game have all come to life and can communicate directly with him.
Somehow, the Guild base has been transported to a new world. Momonga takes the guild’s name as his own in order to locate any other players that may have been brought here too.
