Any big announcements? I couldn’t do it! I said last month that I was going to not publish a blog post every day, but I just couldn’t do it. That means that it’s now been one-hundred and twenty-three days of consecutive blog posts.
Considering that when I started blogging here, I was posting once a week. Ever since I completed the 30 Day Anime Challenge back in November, I haven’t been able to stop. Hopefully, someone has enjoyed them and it’s all been worth it… hopefully…
How’s the writing going? I have been focused on editing rather than writing, with most of that time going on the Black Death trilogy. That’s coming along nicely and the more I re-read it, the more excited I am to get this published. There’s also the possibility that we will post the entire first book online for a limited period. There are three authors involved and we each have a storyline that’s twenty chapters long. We will each post a chapter a day to our websites. I’ll be sure to make an announcement closer to the time, so keep your eyes open.
Any big announcements? Sadly not, but my new laptop has been a joy to work with. The fan is basically silent, it’s so much faster than my old laptop, and it’s definitely helped me speed up my writing/editing/blogging. This is also the third month in a row where I’ve published a post every day. For a while there I thought I wasn’t going to do it in January, but then I decided to do episode reviews for The Promised Neverland.
How’s the writing going? It’s still pretty slow at the moment, but once I’ve got my blogging into a nice routine it will pick up. I haven’t written anything new in a while and I’ve got so many projects lined up ready to go. On top of new projects, I still have eighteen novellas in my Valiant Lineage series to edit and the three novels in the Black Death trilogy. Black Death is the top priority. It’s a collaborative trilogy written by myself and two other authors. One of the other authors is finishing off their part for book three. Once that’s done, we can really focus on putting it together.
Done anything interesting? I decided that I needed to spend a little more time working on my drawing. To aid this I started up my Saturday Sketches, where I draw something anime related every week. I’m open to suggestions so if you want to see me draw anyone, let me know in the comments. So far,
I’ve drawn four different characters, one of which was an original character from my science-fiction novella – Asteroidea. I’m planning on rereleasing it on my website chapter by chapter. It’s a bit of a homage to the classic creature feature, so if you enjoy Alien or The Thing, then you should give this a read.
What have you been watching? I watched the last of the Fall 2018 anime yesterday, well, the ones that aren’t continuing into Winter 2019. Goblin Slayer! was the last one I completed, so expect a review of that shortly. With my routine of waiting for four episodes to be available before watching, it’ll be a little while before I really get into the Winter lineup. That said, I couldn’t wait for The Promised Neverland as the internet is full of spoilers.
On top of that, I’ve started a couple of challenges. The first is the A to Z Anime Challenge where I watch a show starting with each letter of the alphabet throughout the year. I’m trying to do one series every two weeks. So far, I’ve watched Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero and Blood-C. I’ve already started C, but I’m not going to tell you what it is just yet!
The other challenge is my Animercise challenge, which sees me doing ten push-ups, sit-ups, or squats after each episode or movie I watch. This month, I’ve managed to do four-hundred of each. I’ve also realised that just doing ten of one was too easy, so going forward I’ll be doing ten of each after every episode.
What have you been reading? I’ve actually been really bad and haven’t finished a single book. What’s worse is that I have the latest Seraph of the End, six volumes of Dragonar Academy, a load of Monster Musume, and three Magical Girl books sitting on my shelves staring at me. I shall make it my goal to clear those off before next month…
Any plans for next month? I may allow myself a couple of days in the month with no blog posts, possibly. I do need to spend a little more time editing my stories, so I have a good reason, although now that I’ve gone this long, it’s going to be hard to watch an empty day sit in my calendar. We’ll see.
Any big announcements? Not really. I had a very nice Christmas at home with the family. We cooked a turkey and all the trimming, and it turned out to be very nice. I got a new laptop after struggling with my last one for eight years. The new one is silent by comparison and a million times faster, so that should aid my productivity no end.
How’s the writing going? At the moment it’s not really going at all. I’m still working on a cat-girl short for Otaku Stories volume seven. The first draft is done, now I just have to edit it and we can release that. I’ve decided that I am going to pause Valiant Lineage so that I can get the edits done on a collaborative trilogy that I’ve been working on for over a year now. It’s going to be awesome. Here’s a sneak peek at the first cover.
Any big announcements? It was my first full month as a fulltime stay at home dad and I think we’re kind of settling into our positions. He’s the boss and now he’s crawling! It is a totally rewarding role, but it is an awful lot of work. I haven’t had a day off since I left the office… (that’s a joke!)
Any big announcements? So, this month I have started a new and interesting challenge and it’s a long one. For the next year, my primary job will be raising our second child. I’m looking forward to our time together and am well aware of just how much more work is involved (and I’ve only been doing it for two weeks). Seriously, an office job is a breeze in comparison.
