Overlord – Season Three

What did you watch and why? I loved the first two seasons of Overlord, so of course, I was back for the third. It’s dark and gritty, and really, we’re seeing it all from the side of the villain. He is the villain, right?

One line pitch! Overpowered undead sorcerer king starts down a path to conquer the world…

What’s it really about? A gamer that was transported to a world similar to the MMORPG he was playing searches for other gamers from the real world. In an attempt to find them he attempts to get noticed by taking over the world… There are undead armies, goblin hordes, terrifying demons, and those are all on his side.

What did you watch and why? When the new season of anime was announced, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord was top of my list and one look at the promo image should tell you why. That’s right, he’s a demon lord…

High School DxD – Season Four

The season started with Issei and all the younger class members going on a school trip to Kyoto, leaving Rias, Akeno, and Koneko at home to enjoy hot baths… In Kyoto, they come face to face with the Hero Faction.

But all of that is just a warm up to the main event which is the much-anticipated rating game between the Gremory household and Sairaorg’s family. He’s an incredibly strong demon but has no special powers.

But, in reality, all of this is just a backdrop to the real story, which is whether Issei will finally step up and tell Rias exactly how he feels about her. There are plenty of chances but more often than not he really is a ‘brainless dildo’ (direct quote from Akeno). Continue reading “High School DxD – Season Four”

Overlord – Season Two

Lord Ainz Ooal Gown is looking to expand his influence over the land of Yggdrasil. He has identified the countries and their intents, looking for their strengths and weaknesses. Haha! Their weaknesses are that they pale in significance next to Ainz Ooal Gown and his servants.

His first goal is to concur the land occupied by the Lizardmen. He has entrusted Cocytus with completing this task, although it’s not as straightforward as he may assume. The Lizardmen band the five different tribes together in an attempt to stave off Cocytus’ army of the dead.
