Sunday Sevens: My Adventurer Party

I’m going on an adventure. There’s going to be dragons and monsters, and goblins and orcs… Guess, I better put a party together then!

What is this about? A little while back I put together a pirate crew made up of anime characters and then turned it into a tag. Watching more and more bloggers post their own pirate crew has been incredible. I never imagined there would be so much uptake from. So, thanks to everyone that has taken part or is thinking of taking part.

So, back to what’s going on here. Well, I was recently tagged by Matthew at Matt-in-the-Hat when they put together their second pirate crew. Getting tagged in a tag post that you created is pretty cool, but rather than put together another pirate crew, I’m switching it up a little bit by putting together an Adventurer’s Party.

As this is a Sunday Seven post, I’ll be selecting seven anime characters to join me on a quest using the standard Dungeons and Dragons character classes. They are Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard. If you’re interested in what makes up each class, I’ve included the Wiki link above.

It’s time to recruit some adventurers!

Barbarian: Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)

This class seems perfect for the Shounen protagonist. Lots of fury, rage, and charging into every situation without a second thought. If that isn’t Luffy, then I don’t know what is. On top of the obvious traits, Luffy’s devil-fruit powers would come in handy on quests as long as you can keep him fed and focused.

Cleric: Asia Argento (High School DxD)

As you would expect, this is the party’s healer. Asia possesses incredible healing powers and on top of that, she is as cute as a button. She’s not the greatest fighter, but that’s not what she’s there for. As long as we can keep her safe, the party can keep going.

Fighter: Teresa (Claymore)

For the fighter, I’m looking for a weapons specialist. Someone with a little more skill and poise than the barbarian. Teresa of the Faint Smile fits the bill perfectly. She’s calm and thoughtful, but if she’s decided to kill something, you better believe she’s going to do it.

Paladin: Ezra Scarlet (Fairy Tail)

I’ve only seen a handful of episodes of Fairy Tail, it’s something I’m planning on remedying soon, but I can already tell you that Ezra is my favourite character. It’s as if she was made for the role of paladin, skilled with both sword and magic.

Ranger: Archer (Fate/Stay Night)

This guy’s going to be my wildcard. Archer is an insane… er… archer, using swords as arrows and being able to hit pretty much anything he wants. He’s also a little unpredictable, but as long as I keep him busy with quests I think we should be all right.

Rogue: Akatsuki (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero)

Akatsuki is literally the definition of rogue. He should be ideal as the party’s thief as demonstrated by his ability to steal undergarments from unsuspecting attackers. On top of that he has a massive sword and that’s bound to come in handy.

Sorcerer: Diablo (How Not to Summon a Demon Lord)

Sure, Diablo is technically a Demon Lord, but he knows how to use magic so that makes him all right in my books. He also maintains the darker elements of the group. Hopefully, Luffy and Asia won’t be to bothered by the rest brooding and scowling at each other.

Anything to add? At the moment, I have no plans to turn this into another Tag post. If there’s lots of interest, maybe I will, but it is a fairly similar idea to the Pirate Crew Tag. I’ve noticed an increase in the number of Adventurer type anime both Isekai and Fantasy based and that’s fine by me. There’s also several older series that I plan on watching too. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Other Post in the Sunday Sevens Series.

    1. Thanks. Now, we’ve just got to find a dungeon that could give us a challenge.

    1. Thanks and again for the nomination. They kind of picked their roles themselves.
