Got any big announcements?
I guess the big news is that I am now back at the day job, having spent the last year at home with my son. The time seems to have flown by and now I’m spending my days in the office relaxing… Seriously, staying at how with children is exhausting, it’s very rewarding and a lot of fun, but so tiring. It’s been interesting readjusting to office life. I definitely miss the stay-at-home dress code!
The last couple of months, I’ve given a little update on how this site is doing. My views had jumped from two-thousand to four-thousand from July to August. Well, let me tell you about September. Unbelievably, it has passed six-thousand views for September alone!!! Considering that in 2018, I managed a total of two-thousand views in the entire year, this is just incredible. I hope I can keep it up now that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season one has finished.
How’s the writing going?
I’ve started working on the edits of Black Death with a little more vigour and hope to have those ready to roll as soon as possible. We have three books in a first/second draft stage and it will be awesome to finally get those finished and out into the world. I’ve also done a bit of plotting for my reworking of Valiant Lineage. I have a new secret title and I’ve completed an outline for book one and a high-level view of the entire story. Once Black Death is done, I plan on writing and releasing them every three months. It may sound ambitious, but from my previous releases and maintaining a blogging schedule, I think it’s entirely possible. Hopefully, I’ll start on that in the New Year.
Have you done anything interesting?
It’s not necessarily a done thing yet, but I have been discussing the idea to do another podcast with an author friend. We’ll be treating it as the plotting and ideas development sessions for a new epic fantasy story. The fine points are yet to be decided, but it should be a lot of fun. We’ll discuss ideas and generate the plot on the podcast. I’m expecting it to get a little out of control from time to time and that’s when we’ll come up with the best ideas. As I said, however, this is just a pipeline idea at the moment, but I do hope something comes of it.
What have you been watching?
It’s the end of the summer season and a lot of my shows have finished. Fruits Basket and Demon Slayer have both come to an end after half a year. When I decided to start doing episode reviews, I had not counted on the seasons being more than twelve episodes. I don’t know why it never occurred to me, but there you go. There are two shows that will continue into the Fall Season and I’m not planning on reviewing as many this time around.
Here are the shows, I’ve reviewed at an episode level.
- Fruits Basket
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
- Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? II
- Dr. Stone
- Fire Force
- Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest
- How Not to Summon a Demon Lord
Of course, I watched more than just that and have some season reviews for those.
And then there are some that I’ve watched but not yet released the season reviews. So, look out for these.
- Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?
- YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of This World
- Isekai Cheat Magician
- To The Abandoned Sacred Beast
How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift was definitely my favourite show this season, which was surprising, although I still count Fruits Basket and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba as last season and it’s hard to rate the shows that continue into next season. However, that shouldn’t temper your expectations for Dumbbells. The show was fantastic and I know I will be rewatching it again and again. Maybe even while I work out at the gym…
Do you have any plans for next month?
I’m going to edit the crap out of Black Death… literally and keep the plotting going on my Valiant Lineage reworking. I want to be in as good a place as possible to start with a bang in the New Year. My plan is to draw up my own covers too, whether I then get someone to digitally paint them or not I haven’t yet decided, but I’ll see how things look as they progress.
On top of that, I am really looking forward to My Hero Academia Season Four which starts in a couple of weeks. This is probably the only seasonal show that I will look to add to my episodic reviews. There are a couple that I will pick up for Ecchi Hunter, Val x Love and Kandagawa Jet Girls.
Do you have any recommendations for anime, manga, or anything really? Do you have an idea for a discussion post for here or Ecchi Hunter? If you want to talk about it, I’m sure we can fit you in. Thanks again for reading.
