Got any big announcements?
Sadly, I don’t have any big announcements for this month, although I have come up with a plan for 2020 with regards to my blog and have started to put together some of the pieces. The big change is that I am going to revisit some of my favourite series and really look into what made them work for me. These deeper dives will be similar to my Highschool of the Dead analysis from December 2017. My plan is to just keep these going all year long, so that’s going to be interesting.
If you remember from last month, I was working on updating all of my older posts to fit the new theme… well, I’m still doing that, but it’s going well and I am happy with the results so far. The other news, which isn’t really that exciting, but I’m planning on switching my web hosting service so hopefully, that goes without a glitch! Fingers crossed!!!
How’s the writing going?
I’m still working on the edits for the Black Death trilogy and haven’t been able to give it as much time as I’d like as of late. I had hoped to get all the edits done for all three books by the end of the year, and while that doesn’t look likely, I’m certainly going to try to push through with that. It would be great to get that out into the world and not just because we’ve been working on it for quite some time now, but it would also free me up to get back to my dark fantasy series. I’ve had a lot of time to think and plan and am quite excited to get back to it.
Have you done anything interesting?
I finished my A to Z Anime Challenge for 2019 which has been a lot of fun. The reviews are all out yet as I don’t want to just dump them all on you at once, but you can expect the last few letters to appear over the coming days. It was a great way to broaden my horizons and I ended up watching a lot of series that I probably wouldn’t have. There have been some that weren’t that great, but there weren’t any terrible ones.
What have you been watching?
This month, I have been keeping up with Dr. Stone, Fire Force, and My Hero Academia with my full episode reviews. I’ve also introduced a new episode post style which is my episode highlights and am testing it out with Cautious Hero. They are shorter posts with more of a focus on the story elements. After all, I call myself an author, so I should probably use that. The posts are fun and quick to put together, which may mean that I use these for my seasonal shows going forward.
I released several more of my reviews from the A to Z Anime Challenge and they included some great series. No Game No Life, Outbreak Company, Punch Line, Qualidea Code, Re: Zero, and Seraph of the End. It’s quite the bounty, which admittedly, should have been spread across the earlier months, but I took on too many seasonal shows back then… Still, it’s been fun revisiting them to put the season reviews together.
Do you have any plans for next month?
Black Death, Black Death, and Black Death. I know I ‘ve been talking about this series for a long time now, but we really do appear to be getting closer to the finish line. So, I just need to put my head down and hit it as hard as possible. It’s a great story and I think it’ll be well received, but if we don’t finish it, no one’s going to be able to read it.
I mentioned my plans for next year already and I will continue to work on those. As for next month, I am putting together a series of posts for me to look back at the year and hand out some awards. These are obviously just my opinions, but they should be fun to put together. It’ll also be nice to have them scheduled for the Christmas period which will mean I can eat more turkey and chocolate.
Do you have any recommendations for anime, manga, or anything really? Do you have an idea for a discussion post for here or Ecchi Hunter? If you want to talk about it, I’m sure we can fit you in. Thanks again for reading.
