Author Journey May 2019

Lynn Sheridan's Author Journey May 2019

Got any big announcements?

Work on the Black Death is picking up. My co-author has been on fire and has already put together the first draft of some scenes to add in. I’m reading them through now and making notes on what to add from my side. We lost a lot of momentum considering that we both completed the first drafts of our main story at the beginning of last year, but it’s moving in the right direction now. Hopefully, the wait will have been worth it.

How’s the writing going?

The Black Death trilogy is my main focus on the writing front although I did have a dream about my Valiant Lineage series, where it went through the events of book twelve which is still in the draft stage. That’s got me excited to get back into that, but it has got to wait for the Black Death first. I think once that is published, I’m going to recover all my Valiant Lineage books and start that train rolling again. The story was a lot of fun to write and I really need to get it finished.

Have you done anything interesting?

This month saw the end of the Sankarea: Undying Love collaboration with Yomu. It certainly wasn’t the best series out there, but I think our discussions are quite entertaining. Probably more so than the series… We’ve got another project ready to roll out and it’s going to be massive… well, at least that’s what I keep telling myself. We’re starting a new blog that is going to focus on ecchi anime. The first post goes live tomorrow on ecchihunter.com!

What have you been watching?

I’m still watching One Piece in my One Piece a Day challenge and have recently reached episode 522. It’s crazy to think that I’m still nowhere near to catching up. My big issue now is that I’ve been watching the dubbed version and they stop at 573. So, I’ve either got to decide to switch to subtitles, which will be weird because the voices of the characters are a part of them, or wait for more dubbed episodes, whenever that will be. I think I’ll probably switch, but I’ll keep you posted whatever happens.

For my A to Z Anime Challenge, I got through Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon, Jormungand, and Knight’s & Magic. This challenge is still yielding some excellent series that I may have not got around to without it. Of course, I’ve also been re-watching Heaven’s Lost Property which was a lot of fun.

And don’t forget the seasonal shows – Fruits Basket, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Fairy Gone. Each show has been fun to follow, Fairy Gone has had its issues, but I’m hopeful that it’ll turn things around. Demon Slayer on the other hand just seems to get better and better.

What have you been reading?

It’s been a quiet month on the reading front. I only got through volume sixteen of My Hero Academia, even though I have a ton of books sitting on my shelf staring at me. There’s just not enough time in the day to do everything sadly. I need to start working through them.

Do you have any plans for next month?

Next month I hope to get my part for Black Death to a polished state so that we can start putting the chapters together. I’m going to continue reviewing the seasonal shows and then there’s the A to Z Anime Challenge and One Piece a Day. It’s not as if I don’t have enough to do already, so adding Ecchi Hunter into the mix may be a bit crazy, but I’ll let you judge for yourself.

Do you have any recommendations for anime, manga, or anything really? I’m always looking to broaden my horizons. Thanks for reading.

  1. You’re an author, too? Nice. I hope that trilogy goes well for you.
