Author Journey June 2019

Lynn Sheridan Author Journey June 2019

Got any big announcements?

Work on the Black Death trilogy continues as my co-author has started getting up at 5 A.M. to write… Coincidentally, that’s about the same time I go to bed given the five hour time difference between us. I’ve always been more of a night owl than a morning person, but given the option, I would drop sleep. It’s such a waste of time!

How’s the writing going?

My main writing focus has been on editing my part of the Black Death trilogy. It’s going to be such a relief to get this series out. That said we’ve already started coming up with ideas to further expand the Black Death world. It’s generally going to be pretty grim. I’ve also been doing a lot of thinking about Valiant Lineage and how I’m going to get that going again. My gut is telling me to pull them and rework them into full novel-length stories, but I’m some way off getting that going again.

Have you done anything interesting?

Last month, I briefly mentioned my latest project. That was the collaborative blog I was starting with Yomu called Ecchi Hunter. Well, we’ve been at it for almost a month now and rather surprisingly we’ve had a really good month, especially for a debut blog. Amazingly, we’ve had almost 1,000 views. Next month we’re going to be starting to look at the new seasonal shows, so if you enjoy a bit of fan-service in your anime, come check us out. You won’t regret it!

What have you been watching?

My A to Z Challenge has been put on hold momentarily while I get Ecchi Hunter up and running. Service will resume soon and possibly in a more entertaining fashion, especially given how much I’m enjoying writing episode reviews now. Who knew I’d enjoy talking about anime so much…

The seasonal shows have continued as normal with Fruits Basket, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Fairy Gone. Fairy Gone has now finished with a second cour coming later in the year. That said, I don’t think I’ll be picking that one up as the first cour was just too frustrating. I may binge it later, but I can’t deal with that on a weekly basis again.

The new season starts soon and there are lots of exciting titles that I plan on checking out for this site and Ecchi Hunter. I’ve got so much work to do but is it really work if you love doing it. Now, I just need to find a way to make money doing so. Come on Black Death!

What have you been reading?

I’ve only read a few chapters of Parallel Paradise and book twelve of Magical Girl Apocalypse. I know, it’s not much, but I have been very busy working on the garden as of late which has taken up a lot of my time. Lots of digging and moving rock, soil and roots. Can’t wait until it’s done and I can finally get to those other books I’ve been hoarding from the library for so long.

Do you have any plans for next month?

I want to get my part of the Black Death trilogy edited to a shine and then we can start putting it together to make sure it all makes sense. After that, I have a pretty full plate with The Otaku Author and Ecchi Hunter. It’s an exciting time and I’m really enjoying covering the new shows. I’ve also had a couple of very entertaining discussion posts with Dewbond from Shallow Dives in Anime.

Do you have any recommendations for anime, manga, or anything really? Do you have an idea for a discussion post for here or Ecchi Hunter? If you want to talk about it, I’m sure we can fit you in. Thanks again for reading.
