Author Journey February 2019

Lynn Sheridan Author Journey February 2019

Any big announcements?

I couldn’t do it! I said last month that I was going to not publish a blog post every day, but I just couldn’t do it. That means that it’s now been one-hundred and twenty-three days of consecutive blog posts.

Considering that when I started blogging here, I was posting once a week. Ever since I completed the 30 Day Anime Challenge back in November, I haven’t been able to stop. Hopefully, someone has enjoyed them and it’s all been worth it… hopefully…

How’s the writing going?

I have been focused on editing rather than writing, with most of that time going on the Black Death trilogy. That’s coming along nicely and the more I re-read it, the more excited I am to get this published. There’s also the possibility that we will post the entire first book online for a limited period. There are three authors involved and we each have a storyline that’s twenty chapters long. We will each post a chapter a day to our websites. I’ll be sure to make an announcement closer to the time, so keep your eyes open.

Done anything interesting?

I’ve been keeping up with my weekly sketches and now have eight different sketches (and not all of them are hot girls either!). So far, so good. I’m enjoying drawing some of my favourite characters and just hope that I’m doing them justice.

What have you been watching?

I’ve been eagerly awaiting all of the shows from the Winter lineup to become available. So far, some have and some haven’t… Seriously, what is going on with the dub of The Rising of the Shield Hero? I’ve been watching The Promised Neverland with subtitles and reviewing the episodes as they come, which has been a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see how this ends.

I’ve kept the A to Z Anime Challenge going, adding C – Cat Planet Cuties and D – Dragonar Academy to my list. E is well underway and it’s the longest series I’ve chosen for the challenge yet. It’s been a lot of fun putting constraints on what I watch, even if it is only part of my schedule. I haven’t loved everything, but I don’t regret watching any of them either.

As for my other challenge, I have increased the workload for Animercise. After finding it too easy doing just ten push-ups, sit-ups, or squats after every episode, I upped it to doing ten of each. In February, I managed to do more than one-thousand of each. Now I’m looking at the yearly target and wondering if I can manage ten-thousand of each… It’s certainly not out of reach.

What have you been reading?

I’ve back on the manga, getting through ten books (technically seventeen, but I’ll get to that). Seven were from the Dragonar Academy series, the latest volume of Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign, and volume one and two of The Promised Neverland.

I also read sixty-eight chapters of Parallel Paradise, which is almost seven books. I was recommended that one by Dewbond and, while it is quite risque it has a very interesting story and I’m looking forward to more in the series. I still have Monster Masume and Magical Girl Apocalypse sitting on my bookshelf. Plus a bunch on hold at the library once they become available.

Any plans for next month?

I’m going on a family vacation which should be a lot of fun. Will that impact my posts? It’s possible. At present, I’m trying to schedule as much as I can, I’ve got some templates set up for stuff that I can’t schedule, and of course, I’m probably still going to watch some shows while away. There’s no way I can go for two weeks without keeping up with the Promised Neverland.

Do you have any recommendations for anime, manga, or anything really? I’m always looking to broaden my horizons. Thanks for reading.

  1. I’ve been stuck on anime R for a while now, for a similar reason. 3 seasons to watch total, about halfway through now.

    Enjoy the vacation!

Thanks. I’ll have my phone so will probably still read and comment on stuff, but it’s a good idea for me to break the daily posting if I ever want to get back to writing stories.

Also, really enjoying E. It’s a great show so far. Twenty-six episodes where I try to pick shows with just one season and 12 episodes, but that might change based on this one.

    • Looking forward to it, I wonder if I’ve seen it.
Yeah daily posting is difficult without a schedule I find. And even then it’s a real commitment.

Also, maybe we should pick a different ecchi anime to collab? For sometime in the future. Have you seen Sankarea? Something about a zombie girlfriend, could be good haha

I’ve not seen it and just had a quick look. That could be a laugh. I’m game. How would you want to do it?

    • I’m Yomu#2764 on discord if you want to go that route. We can figure it all out when your back from vacation and whatnot

    • Lynn Sheridan

Awesome. Thanks. I’ll add you now.

  2. Thanks for the shoutout!

No worries. Thanks for the recommendation. Now, I’m going to be watching the new release feeds for updates.
