Got any big announcements?
Probably the biggest news this month was that one of the authors from the Black Death trilogy I’ve been working on has pulled out. It’s unfortunate, but it does mean we can get things moving again as we had been on hold for quite some time. We’ve already had several discussion on how we’re going to fill the void and have come up with a pretty dark and exciting part to add in. Hopefully, it won’t be long before we can release it into the wild.
How’s the writing going?
It’s slow, but I’m getting back into things. Obviously, Black Death is taking up the most of my time, however, I do have plans to update and post several of my Otaku on Writing stories to my website. I’ve also started looking at my Valiant Lineage series and have put together a new cover for book one. I’ve not updated anything yet as I’d like to get book nine ready for release first. Here’s the new cover and old cover side by side. Which do you prefer?
Have you done anything interesting?
Other than the new cover for The Damsel in Distress (see above), I’ve not done anything of note. I haven’t drawn anything since the beginning of last month. There are the collaborative reviews of Sankarea: Undying Love that I have been doing with Yomu. Those have been fun and I think we may have a couple more interesting projects in the pipelines.
What have you been watching?
I’ve finished all but one of my shows from the Winter 2019 schedule and should have that finished any day now. As a part of my A to Z Anime Challenge, I watched Grimgar: Ashes and Illusions and Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens and enjoyed the both.
The Spring schedule started up at the beginning of the month and on the back of how much fun I had covering The Promised Neverland on an episode basis, I decided to just pick three shows to watch and write reviews for them weekly. The shows I ended up with are Fruits Basket, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Fairy Gone. It’s been a good start so far and I’m excited to see how they pan out.
What have you been reading?
I breezed through the volume six through eleven of Magical Girl Apocalypse which has just got better and better. It’s dark and twisted and a really interesting story. I can’t wait for more to become available. I also finally got my hands on volume fifteen of My Hero Academia. Annoyingly, I’ve been waiting for this one since November when I finished fourteen. I have reserved the next three, but who knows when they’ll arrive. I have, however, picked up another pile of manga from the library to get through while I wait.
Do you have any plans for next month?
If you’ve been following me since before December, you may remember when I spent an entire month reviewing Highschool of the Dead. It was glorious and a lot of fun. Well, I’ve decided it’s time to do something just like that. This time, I shall be watching and reviewing Heaven’s Lost Property, which I haven’t seen in three years. They are two of my earliest reviews on this site so it’s going to be interesting to see if my opinion has changed at all. The first post in that series will be out later today…
Do you have any recommendations for anime, manga, or anything really? I’m always looking to broaden my horizons. Thanks for reading.
